Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari and his predecessor, Goodluck Jonathan after both leaders met in Mali to engage in further consultations towards finding a political solution to the crisis in the West African nation.<\/p>\n

DAILY POST recalls that Buhari and Jonathan met in Bamako, Mali on Thursday where they will confer with ECOWAS heads led by President Issoufou Mahamadou of Niger Republic.<\/p>\n

Jonathan had on Tuesday briefed Buhari after his initial trip to Mali.<\/p>\n

He visited the State House, Abuja, in the company of President of ECOWAS Commission, Jean-Claude Kassi Brou.<\/p>\n

Jonathan, Buhari, Presidents Machy Sall of Senegal, Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana, Alassane Ouattara of Cote d\u2019Ivoire and ECOWAS Special Envoy are asking Mali President, Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, to step down.<\/p>\n

Reacting to the development, Fani-Kayode in a tweet on his official Twitter page on Friday, said he was glad to see Buhari and Jonathan working together on the Malian crisis.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cI am glad to see that @MBuhari & @GEJonathan are working together on the Mali issue & that they are making progress.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is what building bridges is all about & putting Nigeria first.<\/p>\n

\u201cI sincerely hope that this joint approach to important issues will continue. Congrats to them both.\u201d<\/p>\n
