Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna lawmaker has likened the political crisis in Edo State to that of \u2018Syria\u2019<\/p>\n

The crisis heightened on Thursday when security personnel\u00a0invaded the State House of Assembly.<\/a><\/p>\n

The Speaker, Frank Okiye and the Deputy Speaker of the State Assembly\u00a0were also impeached on the same day.<\/a><\/p>\n

This has led to camps of the People\u2019s Democratic Party, PDP, and All Progressives Congress, APC, throwing jabs, accusations and counter accusations at each other.<\/p>\n

Just last night, Bola Tinubu, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress APC, said Governor Godwin Obaseki\u00a0will be voted out<\/a>\u00a0come September 19 because of his \u201cwoeful leadership\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the National leader, Obaseki who promised to be the Governor of all the people of the State has denied 2\/3 of the people of his state their right to representation in the state\u2019s only legislative chamber.<\/p>\n

Also, Governor Umar Ganduje\u00a0described Obaseki as a woeful failure and a liability<\/a>\u00a0to his party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.<\/p>\n

Obaseki had fired back at Ganduje saying he was in no position to assess his performance because he has \u201cbaggage of the viral video of him stuffing dollars collected from contractors\u201d.<\/p>\n

But Shehu Sani, reacting to the rivalry between both parties said Edo State has become Syria with Wike acting as Putin and Buhari as Trump.<\/p>\n

His tweet read: \u201cEdo has become Syria;Obaseki is Assad, Wike is Putin, Baba is Trump, Jagaban is Nathanyahu with Saudi, Turkey, Iran and Terror groups all in there.\u201c<\/p>\n

Meanwhile President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday endorsed Pastor Ize-Iyamu as the APC flag bearer for the next month\u2019s elections in Edo State.<\/p>\n

Governor Nyesom Wike had expressed disappointment over Buhari\u2019s endorsement.<\/p>\n

According to him, Buhari\u2019s endorsement was wrong especially for someone whose main agenda is fighting corruption to back Ize-Iyamu.<\/p>\n

Ize-Iyamu of the APC will battle it out with the incumbent governor and PDP candidate, Godwin Obaseki, in the September 19, 2020 polls.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
