Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has said most people see Governors as thieves, corrupt and ineffective.<\/p>\n
The Governor said this in response to questions on why he believes being a governor is the worst job in Nigeria.<\/p>\n
He made the claims when he appeared on Channel Television\u2019s Sunrise Daily programme.<\/p>\n
El-Rufai said that despite the recession people still expect progress to happen \u201covernight\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cGovernors are the most suspected elected officials,\u201d El-Rufai said.<\/p>\n
\u201cEveryone thinks Governors are just thieves and we are wasting state resources, we are not doing anything. Governors are assumed to be taking security votes.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen people hear security votes, they think it is a slush fund for Governors. So we have a very negative image out there.<\/p>\n
