{"id":31265,"date":"2020-10-17T16:36:13","date_gmt":"2020-10-17T16:36:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/nigeria\/?p=31265"},"modified":"2020-10-17T16:36:13","modified_gmt":"2020-10-17T16:36:13","slug":"anonymous-confirms-hacking-cbn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/all-news\/anonymous-confirms-hacking-cbn","title":{"rendered":"Anonymous confirms hacking CBN"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Africa Press-Nigeria:<\/p>\n<p>The websites of the Central Bank of Nigerian (CBN) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have been hacked.<\/p>\n<p>Anonymous, a band of unknown individuals, has claimed responsibility, with a threat to seize control of more government websites.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier on Friday, they took over the Twitter handle of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC).<\/p>\n<p>The account is still under their control and has grown from 10,000 followers to 22,500.<\/p>\n<p>The group said they support the weak against the powerful and stand for justice.<\/p>\n<p>They listed their values as human rights, autonomy and self-governance, resistance against tyranny, a more humane society.<\/p>\n<p>Anonymous noted that its actions were in support of the End SARS protests.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, their handle tweeted about the protest hashtags in Nigeria and other places.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fight against impunity and cruelty is global. #WhatIsHappeningInPhilippines<br \/>\n#JusticeForBabyRiver #whatisHappeninginThailand #WhatsHappeningInIndonesia #OmnibusLaw #EndPoliceBrutality #EndSars\u201d, it read.<\/p>\n<p>Anonymous first announced the attacks on state platforms on Thursday, two days after posting a video showing demonstrators.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c#Nigeria: Anonymous hacks multiple government websites in solidarity with #EndSARS protestors and retribution for violence by police. #OpNigeria #EndSARSProtest\u201d, they tweeted.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa Press-Nigeria: The websites of the Central Bank of Nigerian (CBN) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have been hacked.
