The palatial residence located on the Island was on Wednesday ransacked by an irate mob.<\/p>\n
The whereabouts of the monarch, Rilwan Akiolu, is not known yet.<\/p>\n
His staff of office, regarded as the symbol of authority, was taken away.<\/p>\n
Akiolu was hauled to safety before the assailants struck.<\/p>\n
In response to a distress call, soldiers rushed to the palace and rescued him.<\/p>\n
The violent youths turned against him after burning down the Ebute Ero police post in Idumota.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Lagos Television (LTV) and MiTV have gone off.<\/p>\n
The broadcast stations are located in Alausa.<\/p>\n
