Nigeria Senate on Thursday confirmed a letter from President Muhammadu Buhari on the National minimum wage bill.<\/p>\n

In a letter which was read by the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu who presided over Thursday\u2019s plenary, Buhari urged the legislators to expedite action on the bill.<\/p>\n

The letter further noted that passing the bill on time would stabilise the economy as Nigerian workers have been looking towards solving the Labour crisis.<\/p>\n

\u201cMr. Senate President, I hope if the bill is passed on time, it would stabilise the nation\u2019s economy and avoid workers\u2019 strike. \u201d<\/p>\n

DAILY POST earlier reports that the National Council of states approved the new national minimum wage of N27,000 on Tuesday this week.<\/p>\n

Nigeria Labour Congres (NLC) however, rejected the development, insisting that they would not go below N30,000.<\/p>\n
