{"id":33799,"date":"2020-12-23T19:37:18","date_gmt":"2020-12-23T19:37:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/nigeria\/?p=33799"},"modified":"2020-12-23T19:37:18","modified_gmt":"2020-12-23T19:37:18","slug":"nse-deploys-e-platform-to-ease-public-offering","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/nse-deploys-e-platform-to-ease-public-offering","title":{"rendered":"NSE deploys e-platform to ease public offering"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\">Africa-Press<\/a> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/nigeria\">Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) has launched an online platform named, \u201cX-PO\u201d to ease the public offering process in the capital market after receiving a \u201cno objection\u201d letter from the Securities and Exchange Commission, the capital market regulator, said on the initiative.<\/p>\n<p>The X-PO, which is the first end-to-end public offer platform in Africa, \u201cis designed to enhance the experiences of stakeholders in the public offerings value chain, by providing a smarter and efficient way to manage public offers in the Nigerian capital market,\u201d the NSE said on Tuesday in a website statement.<\/p>\n<p>Oscar Onyema, the NSE chief executive, said the deployment of the electronic platform emphasised the commitment to transform stakeholders\u2019 experience in the Nigerian capital market by deepening technology utilisation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe X-PO has been designed to enhance the efficiency of PO subscription process and operational work-flow to support issuers in raising capital and enhance the reach of POs while promoting financial inclusion and retail investors\u2019 participation in the market,\u201d the NSE chief said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFurthermore, X-PO will accelerate the reconciliation and allotment process for POs, as well as reduce the incidence of unclaimed dividends, thereby boosting investor confidence in the capital market,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The NSE said the platform would help achieve paperless public offer subscriptions, adding that it had taken into consideration the significance of privacy and data protection.<\/p>\n<p>Opinions<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
