{"id":34080,"date":"2020-12-29T18:42:16","date_gmt":"2020-12-29T18:42:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/nigeria\/?p=34080"},"modified":"2020-12-29T16:38:30","modified_gmt":"2020-12-29T16:38:30","slug":"dino-melaye-warns-buhari-against-arresting-bishop-kukah","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/dino-melaye-warns-buhari-against-arresting-bishop-kukah","title":{"rendered":"Dino Melaye warns Buhari against arresting Bishop Kukah"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\">Africa-Press<\/a> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/nigeria\">Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Dino Melaye, former Senator representing Kogi West, has warned President Muhammadu Buhari against attempting to arrest the Bishop of Sokoto Catholic Diocese, Mathew Kukah, over his Christmas message.<\/p>\n<p>DAILY POST had reported that Kukah accused President Buhari of crass nepotism like never experienced in the history of Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>Bishop Kukah, in his Christmas message titled, \u201cA Nation in Search of Vindication\u201d delivered in Sokoto on Friday, noted that President Buhari had succeeded in sacrificing the dreams of Nigerians on the altar of nepotism by pursuing Northern hegemony.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, there could have been a coup or war in the country if a non-Nothern Muslim became president and does some of the things Buhari had done.<\/p>\n<p>Following the development, the Muslim Rights Concern, MURIC, launched an attack on the Bishop.<\/p>\n<p>MURIC accused Kukah of being a first class blackmailer.<\/p>\n<p>Reacting, Melaye in a Tweet warned Buhari against arresting or embarrassing Bishop Kukah.<\/p>\n<p>He also said the President will be shown that the government isn\u2019t owned by him but the people if he fails to heed to the warning.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cArrest or try to embarass Bishop Kukah and we will prove to you that Government is not owned by you but the people.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey want to scare every body.
