Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday night, recorded 1,664 new infections of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the country.<\/p>\n

The NCDC confirmed this on its verified Twitter account.<\/p>\n

Five deaths were also recorded in Nigeria.<\/p>\n

The figure was the highest ever recorded in one day since the virus was first reported in the country.<\/p>\n

The latest figure surpassed the 1,354 cases recorded across the country on Tuesday, confirming that Nigeria is experiencing a second wave of coronavirus.<\/p>\n

The NCDC stated that the new infections bring the country\u2019s total to 94,369.<\/p>\n

The new cases were recorded from 22 States, including the Federal Capital Territory.<\/p>\n
