Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The Anambra State Government has ordered schools in the state to reopen on Monday, with only teachers and school administrators in attendance.<\/p>\n

Students and pupils in the state, the government said will only commence attendance and full classes on Feb. 1, for the 2020\/2021 academic session.<\/p>\n

An official announcement by the Commissioner for Basic Education, Prof. Kate Omenugha stated that the date of resumption was approved by the State Executive Council (EXCO) on Jan. 14.<\/p>\n

The announcement urged the public, private and mission schools administrators and teachers to use the two weeks prior to resumption to install all facilities that will enable the observance of COVID-19 protocols in their various schools.<\/p>\n

Part of the announcement read, \u201cNote that no child or teacher is to be allowed into the school compound without their facemasks, while school infirmaries are requested to rise to their responsibilities in ensuring that regular temperature checks of all making entry into school compounds.<\/p>\n

\u201cThose in Boarding Houses are advised to prepare accordingly while returning to their hostels as visitors may not be allowed into the school premises with them.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll stakeholders should be guided accordingly as no school should open before the stipulated date. Instead, all schools should concentrate on getting their school COVID-19 protocols ready before receiving the students.
