{"id":35714,"date":"2021-01-25T18:48:05","date_gmt":"2021-01-25T18:48:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/?p=35714"},"modified":"2021-01-25T16:20:19","modified_gmt":"2021-01-25T16:20:19","slug":"oyo-police-confirms-killing-of-ibadan-socialite","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/all-news\/oyo-police-confirms-killing-of-ibadan-socialite","title":{"rendered":"Oyo police confirms killing of Ibadan socialite"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\">Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Oyo State Police command has confirmed the killing of an Ibadan socialite, Mr. Teslim Akinpelu by suspected armed robbers.<\/p>\n<p>Police confirmed that the deceased, also known as Gatuso, was killed by four armed robbers on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>DAILY POST recalls that Akinpelu was Saturday evening shot by armed robbers in a hotel around Iyaganku area of Ibadan.<\/p>\n<p>Akinpelu, DAILY POST gathered, died as a result of the gunshot he sustained.<\/p>\n<p>The Public Relations Officer of the States Police command, Mr. Olugbenga Fadeyi, in his reaction, confirmed the killing of the socialite.<\/p>\n<p>Fadeyi in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Monday, added that DPO of Iyaganku had commenced investigation into the matter.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the armed robbers pretended to be lodgers before carrying out their evil intention.<\/p>\n<p>Fadeyi said, \u201cTeslim Akinpelu, aka Gatuso was shot dead by 4 armed men at Town hotel NTC Iyaganku at about 0045 hrs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey pretended to be lodgers before carrying out their evil intention.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInvestigation has commenced into the matter by DPO Iyaganku.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
