Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The All Progressives Congress (APC) says the former Nigeria Service Chiefs had remarkable achievements while in office.<\/p>\n

John Akpan Udoedehe, Secretary of the National Caretaker Committee, made the remark in his statement on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Udoedehe hailed the appointment of new top shots by President Muhammadu Buhari.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are confident that the new service chiefs will consolidate on the remarkable achievements of their predecessors in keeping the country safe and peaceful\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

The party scribe appealed for support for the new military heads and urged increased synergy within the Armed Forces.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a nation, our strength remains in our diversity and we should continue to forge unity in that diversity. We urge peaceful coexistence and mutual understanding among Nigerians\u201d, his statement added.<\/p>\n

The new chiefs are Major-General Leo Irabor \u2013 Chief of Defence Staff; Major-General I. Attahiru \u2013 Chief of Army Staff; Rear Admiral A. Z Gambo \u2013 Chief of Naval Staff; Air-Vice Marshal I. O. Amao \u2013 Chief of Air Staff.<\/p>\n

They replace Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Olonisakin; Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok Ekwe Ibas; Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
