Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has called for the ban of herdsmen and cattle movement from the North to the Southern part of Nigeria.<\/p>\n

Ganduje explained that the ban would put an end to the frequent clash between herdsmen and farmers in the country.<\/p>\n

He made the call during a launch between governors of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina State over the weekend.<\/p>\n

Addressing journalists after the meeting, Ganduje urged the federal government to enact a law banning the movement of cattle across the country.<\/p>\n

Ganduje said: \u201cWe are building a RUGA settlement in Samsosua forest, our border with Katsina.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy advocacy is that we should abolish the transportation or trekking of herdsmen from the Northern part of Nigeria to the middle belt and to the southern part of Nigeria.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere should be a law that will ban cattle movement, otherwise, we cannot control the conflicts between herdsmen and farmers and the cattle rustling which is affecting us greatly.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
