Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Motorists and road users in the Osun State capital are complaining about the narrow nature of some intercity roads within Osogbo.<\/p>\n

DAILY POST reports that the affected roads include the Oke-Fia \u2013 Freedom Park (Old Garage) road, Jaleyemi and Gbeemu Junction Road and Station Road.<\/p>\n

Their complaints are coming on the heels of a 3 hours demo closure carried out recently by the State Government.<\/p>\n

The motorists while baring their minds to DAILY POST complained that the decision of the state government to construct a flyover at Olaiya Junction was not in the best interest of road users in Osogbo due to the fact that traffic at the popular junction is always smooth.<\/p>\n

They decried the traffic congestion experienced in the affected roads which are always heavy during the morning and evening rush hours.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, prominent Osun indigenes have continued to show their support for the state government in its bid to construct the Olaiya Flyover.<\/p>\n

Notable amongst them is a veteran journalist and former Nigerian Ambassador to the Republic of Philippines, Dr. Yemi Farounbi.<\/p>\n

In a statement released at the weekend, the former diplomat said the decision of the state government to construct the bridge was a bold step in the right direction and as one that will not only solve contemporary problems but even future ones.<\/p>\n

He also described the decision of the State Government to construct the flyover as one that puts it ahead of challenges long before they become problems.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
