Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Barely 24 hours after suspected Fulani herdsmen gruesomely killed five persons in Owode Ketu, youths under the auspices of Yewa North Patriotic Forum has issued a seven-day ultimatum to killer herdsmen roaming or domiciled within Yewa North to quit the area.<\/p>\n

The group gave the ultimatum in a press statement tagged, \u2018YNPF to killer Fulani herdsmen: We can\u2019t condone you beyond Seven days\u2018 and made available to DAILY POST on Friday, in Abeokuta.<\/p>\n

According to the statement signed by the President of the group, Sani Omobolaji, residents of Yewa North have been living in fear and pains of recurrent killings which can only be traced to herders but have refused to fight back, hoping that solutions will be offered after complaints to the government.<\/p>\n

The statement reads in part, \u201cAs responsible young people in Yewa North, We have tried to ensure that our coexistence works even when we are the legitimate owners of Yewa land, but Thursday\u2019s gruesome killing of five of our people has shown that killer Fulani herdsmen can only live in their own world.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn this note, we call on the state government to immediately deploy a coalition of security agencies to seal off borders with our neighbouring country either through the bushes or through designated routes.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe also use this medium to give a seven-day ultimatum within which all killer herdsmen must vacate our Local Government or face the full anger of a grieving people.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf this ultimatum is taken with levity, we shall stop at nothing in ensuring that all unknown Fulanis are flushed out of our Local Government at the expiration of the seven days ultimatum\u201d.<\/p>\n

While recounting their ordeal, the group said, \u201cWe are fully ready to take our destiny in our own hands and not wait till the Fulanis successfully wipe off all our promising children and caring parents.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow is the best time to dissolve the marriage of inconvenience between our people in Yewa North Local Government and the killer Fulani herdsmen, as we can not condone these criminals beyond seven days in our domain.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have over time picked dead bodies of our loved ones littered in the nearby bushes as helpless citizens of Ogun State, we have endured the torture of Fulani herders, as they turned our rivers into sewage, destroyed our farmlands, rendered our effort fruitless and killed innocent farmers while going about their legitimate businesses\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
