{"id":36978,"date":"2021-02-12T20:06:41","date_gmt":"2021-02-12T20:06:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/?p=36978"},"modified":"2021-02-12T17:40:55","modified_gmt":"2021-02-12T17:40:55","slug":"only-pdp-can-save-nigeria-from-collapse-olisa-metuh","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/parties\/only-pdp-can-save-nigeria-from-collapse-olisa-metuh","title":{"rendered":"Only PDP can save Nigeria from collapse \u2013 Olisa Metuh"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\">Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Olisa Metuh, former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, National Publicity Secretary, has said only the party can save Nigeria from collapse.<\/p>\n<p>Metuh made the remark while hosting members of PDP\u2019s National Working Committee in his Abuja residence, on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The former PDP spokesman insisted that the opposition party was Nigeria\u2019s option to ensure unity, stability and development.<\/p>\n<p>He lamented that Nigerians were losing hope because they have been through a lot.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cAt this point, the PDP remains the viable option to restore hope in the polity, revamp the faith Nigerians have in our nation and save her from collapse.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDespite my travails and challenges, my confidence in the ideals, values and principles of the PDP, as enshrined by our founding fathers, remain unshaken and it is clear that the party can rescue our nation from her current dire straits.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur nation has passed through a lot and the citizens are losing hope in the polity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Recall that Metuh was recently released from Kuje prison.<\/p>\n<p>This followed a ruling by the Federal High Court, Abuja, admitting him to N250million bail.<\/p>\n<p>Metuh has been on trial over a N400m alleged fraud involving the former National Security Adviser to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Sambo Dasuki.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
