{"id":37396,"date":"2021-02-18T18:23:16","date_gmt":"2021-02-18T18:23:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/?p=37396"},"modified":"2021-02-18T17:32:28","modified_gmt":"2021-02-18T17:32:28","slug":"nnpc-rules-out-fuel-increment-in-february","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/economy\/nnpc-rules-out-fuel-increment-in-february","title":{"rendered":"NNPC rules out fuel increment in February"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\">Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, has ruled out the possibility of increasing fuel price before the end of February.<\/p>\n<p>NNPC assured that despite the increase in crude oil price in the international market, the cost of fuel would not be increased in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>The Corporation\u2019s Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, Dr. Kennie Obateru disclosed this in a statement he signed.<\/p>\n<p>According to Obateru: \u201cIn spite of the rise in the price of crude oil in the international market, the #NNPC has ruled out any increment in the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) in February, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe decision was to allow ongoing engagements with organized labour and other stakeholders on an acceptable framework that will not expose the ordinary Nigerian to any hardship, to be concluded.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Obateru appealed to petroleum marketers not to engage in hoarding of Premium Motor Spirit, also known as petrol in order not to create artificial scarcity and unnecessary hardship for Nigerians.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the Corporation has \u201cenough stock of petrol to keep the nation well supplied for about 40 days.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
