Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The Zamfara State\u2019s chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has lamented that governor Matawalle\u2019s peace accord and reconciliation process with bandits in the state has been the cause of rampant cases of banditry in the state.<\/p>\n

This was contained in a press statement by the state APC Caretaker Committee chairman, Hon. Lawal Liman Kaura.<\/p>\n

He noted that since the peace accord and reconciliation process of the PDP led-government in Zamfara State began, these armed bandits have continued to unleash terror attacks and Kidnappings for ransom instead of embracing peace.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey have more than ever been engaged in merciless killings, raping, arson and other atrocities against the people of the state. The situation has been on the increase in almost every part of our state\u201d.<\/p>\n

The APC caretaker chairman advised Governor Matawalle to stop paying lip service about the security situation in the state, urging him to tell the world the real security situation in the state so that the state could be assisted to fight banditry.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no need to be paying lip service about the true security situation of the state while the citizens are silently groaning with guttural sounds under the shackles of armed bandits who have found Zamfara State as a \u201cSafe Haven\u201d courtesy of the State government\u2019s so called \u201cPeace accord\u201d with them\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is pertinent for us at this critical time to draw the attention of the PDP led Zamfara State government attention to the fact that the issue of security of lives and property of the citizenry is beyond politics and rhetorics so it should be treated as such,\u201d he lamented.<\/p>\n

The statement pointed out that security was the primary responsibility of any responsible government, pointing out that it shouldn\u2019t be towed or treated with laxity, melodious public utterances or blemish comments for the purpose of achieving a political ambitions.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe, therefore, implore the Zamfara State government to as a matter of responsibility to reorganize its security architecture, review its security resolutions to properly secure the state and salvage it from the present danger ravaging the state as people of the state are no longer interested in your lips services and untimely politicking of buying unpopular politicians with the state resources instead of concentrating on securing the state\u201d.<\/p>\n

The state APC boss explained that his party has expressed worries over the sad news of the abduction of over 300 students of Government Girls Junior Secondary School, Jangebe in Talata Mafara Local Government Area of the State, by unknown gunmen last Friday.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe APC has described the unfortunate the abduction as barbaric, inhuman, condemnable and uncultured which is capable of plunging the state back to the dark age where inhumanity took the center stage\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf not for sadism, why should these innocent school children, mostly underaged, be subjected to this kind of an emotional, psychological and mental trauma?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAPC is therefore in this trying moments joining the government and People of Zamfara State to with parents and guardians in mourning the unfortunate happening.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are calling on the state government and security agencies to as a matter of responsibility ensure safe rescue of these innocent students\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile we averse the act and condemned it in its totality, we urge the state populace and well wishers of Zamfara State to remain steadfast in prayers for their quick, safe rescue and their joyful re-union to their respective families.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
