Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has condemned the abduction of students of the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation in Mando, Kaduna State.<\/p>\n

Atiku said no resources should be spared in ensuring the release of the abducted students.<\/p>\n

In a series of tweets, the former Vice President lamented that female students were being targeted in the North.<\/p>\n

According to Atiku: \u201cA situation where only girl students\u2014an already vulnerable group that is playing catch-up in the North, is specifically targeted for abduction raises serious concerns.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy thoughts and prayers are with the affected students\u2019 families, even as I urge that no resources should be spared to secure their release. The question is: how long shall we continue with this situation?\u201d<\/p>\n

Recall that some gunmen had in the wee hours of Friday invaded the school and abducted the students.<\/p>\n

Confirming the incident to journalists, the state\u2019s Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige had said the exact number of students abducted was uncertain.<\/p>\n

Lately, Northern states have witnessed mass abduction of students.<\/p>\n
