Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The European Medicines Agency has said that the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine is safe and effective.<\/p>\n

EU\u2019s Medicines Agency Chief, Emer Cooke made this known to newsmen during a press conference after a probe of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine by the body\u2019s safety committee on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Cooke claimed the AstraZeneca vaccine was \u201csafe and effective\u201d and was not linked to an increased risk of blood clots.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe committee has come to a clear scientific conclusion, this is a safe and effective vaccine, he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe committee also concluded that the vaccine is not associated with an increase in the overall risk of thromboembolic events or blood clots,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
