Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Jigawa State Government has paid N 1,452,410,454,65 as retirement benefits to seven hundred and ninety-three retired civil servants.<\/p>\n

Executive Secretary, state and local governments, Hashim Ahmad Fagam revealed this while briefing newsmen.<\/p>\n

He said the payment is for the first quarter of the 2021 fiscal year.<\/p>\n

He said the beneficiaries are those who have left service or died in active service.<\/p>\n

Fagam explained that the beneficiaries are from the state government, local government and local education authority.<\/p>\n

\u201cA total of 793 workers retired out of which 589 persons were paid retirement benefits, 144 death benefits, 53 death pension balance and seven persons also received a refund of 8% contribution\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201c288 workers from the state, 255 from local Government and 250 workers from local government education authority\u201d<\/p>\n

He commended Governor Badaru for considering the payment of retirees benefits as at when due.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
