1. President Muhammadu Buhari\u2019s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, yesterday, said nobody can bring down the current Federal Government. The president\u2019s spokesman made the assertion on Channels Television\u2019s Sunrise Daily, on Friday.<\/p>\n

2. Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Friday, assured that President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government was planning an economy that will work for all Nigerians, especially the poor and vulnerable. He spoke while delivering a keynote address at the 19th meeting of the National Council on Development Planning in Abuja.<\/p>\n

3. President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday paid tribute to the patriotic martyrs of the Nigerian civil war which lasted 30 months. The President spoke at an event to welcome the World leader of the Tijaniyya Islamic Religious Movement, Sheikh Muhammadu Mahy Niass, the Grand Khalifa of Sheikh Ibrahim Niass.<\/p>\n

5. Father of one of the 39 students kidnapped from the Federal College of Forestry Mechanization in Mando, Kaduna, Ibrahim Shamaki, is dead. He reportedly died on Friday from the anguish of his missing daughter Fatima.<\/p>\n

6. The Sokoto State government, yesterday, ordered for the immediate closure of Government Girls\u2019 College, Sokoto over the outbreak of gastroenteritis in the school. The state commissioner, Ministry of Science and Technology, Dr Kulu Haruna stated this while briefing Journalists in Sokoto on Friday.<\/p>\n

7. Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo, yesterday said that the Eastern Security Network (ESN) of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has become a threat to Nigeria\u2019s security operatives. Gambo stated this in Onitsha shortly after he met with the state governor, Chief Willie Obiano in the Governor\u2019s Lodge.<\/p>\n
