Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The Lagos State Government has sealed 400 night clubs and 30 event centres in the State for contravening COVID-19 directives.<\/p>\n

Mr. Lanre Mojola, the Director-General of the Lagos State Safety Commission, LSC, made this disclosure in a statement on Thursday.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe commission was involved in the enforcement of COVID-19 protocol and this led to sealing of 30 event centres and 400 clubs across the state,\u201d Mojola said.<\/p>\n

Mojola also said that the commission issued provisional safety compliance certificates for three months.<\/p>\n

He added that the commission had carried out a risk assessment and unscheduled safety inspections of construction sites to ensure safety compliance, as well as adherence to COVID-19 rules to prevent accidents and loss of lives.<\/p>\n

According to him, enforcement action was carried out in 609 construction sites for repeated failure to comply with safety regulations.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe idea is to provide a comprehensive strategic framework and policy direction for Occupational Safety and Health in Lagos State.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis will further protect the state\u2019s most valuable resource and asset (its human capital) by building a safer and healthier Lagos through the development and sustenance of safe and healthy work culture,\u201d Mojola said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
