Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Olusegun Bamgbose, National Coordinator, Concerned Advocates for Good Governance, CAGG, has said that the sudden death of Yinka Odumakin, the spokesman of Afenifere, is suspicious.<\/p>\n

Bamgbose said he won\u2019t want to believe that Odumakin\u2019s death was as a result of COVID-19 complications, adding that he wants the death investigated by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu.<\/p>\n

Speaking to DAILY POST via the telephone on Sunday, the senior lawyer said that the news of the death came to him as a rude shock.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is quite painful. He died at a time Nigeria needed him most. He was no doubt a social critic with a big difference,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

According to him, Nigeria will miss the Yoruba leader, adding that Afenifere has indeed lost its best, \u201cthe shining light, the light bearer of the Civil Society.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOne seriously doubts if any other person can replace him. He was a formidable fighter against injustice, bad governance and impunity,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe has indeed left an indelible mark on the sands of history. The opposition has lost a fearless fighter. They have lost a General.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne would however take solace in the fact that his life was eventful and exceptional. However I personally smell a rat.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis sudden demise is suspicious. I won\u2019t want to believe that his death was as a result of COVID-19 complications. I want his death investigated by the Inspector General of Police.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn my own part I\u2019ll conduct my personal investigation and I want to assure Nigerians whoever is responsible for his death will face the wrath of God before the end of May 2021. It\u2019s as serious as that.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
