{"id":40706,"date":"2021-04-08T18:30:34","date_gmt":"2021-04-08T18:30:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/?p=40706"},"modified":"2021-04-08T16:51:51","modified_gmt":"2021-04-08T16:51:51","slug":"doctor-nurse-abducted-by-gunmen-in-ogun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/all-news\/doctor-nurse-abducted-by-gunmen-in-ogun","title":{"rendered":"Doctor, nurse abducted by gunmen in Ogun"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\">Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>A medical doctor, Oladunni Odetola has been kidnapped alongside a nurse identified as Mrs Bamgbose, in Ogun State, DAILY POST reports.<\/p>\n<p>Odetola, it was learnt, is the head of General Hospital, Imeko, Imeko-Afon Local Government Area of Ogun State.<\/p>\n<p>They were kidnapped on Wednesday night by unknown gunmen while driving along Abeokuta-Imeko road.<\/p>\n<p>Our correspondent gathered that the gunmen had emerged from the bush at Olubo village to attack their targets.<\/p>\n<p>The vehicle of the abducted persons, a Toyota camry (Muscle) with registration number, KTU 584 FR, was left at the middle of the road, where it was discovered by the police.<\/p>\n<p>DAILY POST learnt that the police had recovered the doctor\u2019s NMA identity card and a minute of the association\u2019s meeting in the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>It was also gathered that the front passenger-side tyre of the vehicle was punctured, while the windscreen was also perforated.<\/p>\n<p>A source told our correspondent that two empty shells of AK-47 ammunition were seen at the scene of the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Ogun Police Command\u2019s spokesperson, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, has confirmed the incident, adding that \u201cpolice detectives are on the trail of the kidnappers.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
