Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors have condemned the No-fly zone in Zamfara State which the presidency said was enforced to check illegal arms and gold trade.<\/p>\n

They accused President Muhammadu Buhari of being biased against states controlled by the opposition.<\/p>\n

The party stalwarts made their position known on Friday in a communiqu\u00e9 after a meeting in Makurdi, the Benue State capital.<\/p>\n

The governors condemned the \u201cintimidation\u201d through \u201csecurity agencies, unequal access to federal resources, promotion of divisions in the opposition parties with fake promises, and falsehoods\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo this end, we call on Mr. President to lift the so-called \u201cNo flight Zone\u201d and other intimidating tactics imposed on Zamfara State,\u201d the communiqu\u00e9 read.<\/p>\n

The party stalwarts regretted that the same measure was not extended to states with similar security challenges like Kaduna, Borno, Katsina, Yobe, among others.<\/p>\n

The governors described the action against Zamfara as \u201cpolitically motivated to ensure that the Governors move over to APC.\u201d<\/p>\n

The meeting mocked the APC for its inability to constitute even a democratically-elected National Executive Committee as required by the constitution.<\/p>\n

The communiqu\u00e9 said a party that operates by military fiat with an appointed and unelected executive committee at all levels \u2013 ward to national \u2013 has no business running the affairs of Nigeria.<\/p>\n

It added that the APC is interested in playing politics and jockeying for power in 2023, \u201cwhen they have done an abysmal and terribly poor job of their current questionable mandate\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
