<\/p>\nThe All Progressives Congress, APC, on Friday, alleged that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar was plotting to smuggle cash and weapons through Cameroon into Nigeria.<\/p>\n
Deputy spokesperson of APC, Yekini Nabena claimed that the plot was aimed at causing violence during the forthcoming general election.<\/p>\n
Addressing journalists in Abuja, Nabena alleged that Atiku controls an extensive network in Cameroon and has strong family ties in the country.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cAs a result of increased monitoring and scrutiny of financial transactions in the country particularly by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the recently established Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU), Atiku has found it extremely difficult financing his campaign through his stash of illicit cash.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn desperation, Atiku has perfected plans to smuggle in cash for vote buying and weapons to foment violence during the elections. It is not a coincidence that Atiku has quickly alleged plans to arrest some of his close aides and henchmen before the elections.<\/p>\n
\u201cIntelligence reports disclose the weapons and cash will be brought in through the Nigeria-Cameroun border where Atiku controls an extensive network and has strong family ties.<\/p>\n
\u201cAtiku was born in Jada, in Ganye local government of Adamawa state. The area was once part of Cameroon before Nigeria\u2019s independence.
