Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Former Manchester United defender, Gary Neville, has told the Super League to impose a heavy fine on teams that are pulling out.<\/p>\n

The Premier League\u2019s Big Six have withdrawn from the breakaway competition just 48 hours after they announced they were part of it.<\/p>\n

Their decision followed outrage and backlash from players, fans and football governing bodies.<\/p>\n

Neville has been one of the leading critics of the Super League and says he will not be opposed to United being handed a massive fine to exit the contract they signed with Real Madrid chief, Florentino Perez, who is the chairman of the Super League and one of its leading driving forces.<\/p>\n

When asked for his reaction to the developments, Neville told Sky Sports: \u201cThey haven\u2019t backed down yet, but the fact that City have obviously enacted the withdrawal procedure and it looks like Chelsea are on the way, it\u2019s done. It\u2019s finished.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd they\u2019ll have their PR teams, communications teams scrambling around now trying to make this look as lovely as possible in the next 24 hours, working out what the right time is to withdraw from it.<\/p>\n
