Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Jorge Masvidal, an American mixed martial artist, has spoken after losing to Kamaru Usman, a US-based Nigerian boxer, on Saturday in UFC 261.<\/p>\n

Masvidal prayed to \u2018God to bless\u2019 Usman after losing to the 33-year-old, adding that he caught him by surprise, and it hurts.<\/p>\n

The 36-year-old\u2019s defeat to Usman was his first knockout loss of his 50-fight MMA career.<\/p>\n

Usman scored a stunning second-round knockout to finish Masvidal and retained the undisputed UFC welterweight title in Florida.<\/p>\n

The bout was a rematch of their meeting at UFC 251, where Usman defeated Masvidal after five gruelling rounds.<\/p>\n

\u201cFirst time in my career, and it\u2019s in front of all my people, my family and my friends, so it hurts,\u201d Masvidal said after the fight.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve never been knocked out in 50 pro fights. Usman showed me something that he didn\u2019t show in the first fight. I didn\u2019t feel his power, and that\u2019s what happens when you get overconfident. I thought we were going to wrestle more.<\/p>\n
