Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The House of Representatives has urged the Ministry of Interior and Nigeria Immigration Service to review their agreement with passport producers.<\/p>\n

The green chamber asked them to review the existing agreements with the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Company Plc and IRIS Smart Technologies Ltd to increase capacity to produce.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the lawmakers give NIS 72 hours to clear existing backlogs of passports.<\/p>\n

These resolutions were the outcome of a motion moved by Ugonna Ozurigbo on Thursday at the plenary.<\/p>\n

The lawmaker in his motion said lack of \u2018booklet\u2019 at passport office is causing untold hardship for Nigerians.<\/p>\n

He added that a process that ought to be seamless is causing strain on people.<\/p>\n

\u201cNigerians who have applied for International Passports and fulfilled all the requirements are constrained to wait endlessly for their International Passports.\u201d<\/p>\n
