Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>First Bank of Nigeria says Adesola Adeduntan has resumed as the Chief Executive Officer.<\/p>\n

A statement by the management said this was in line with the directives of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).<\/p>\n

The bank confirmed it is cooperating with CBN, other regulators and assured its operations are not hampered or hindered in any way.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe further wish to reassure the public, our esteemed customers and stakeholders in the words of the Governor of the Central Bank in concluding his press conference,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n

First Bank added that the actions being taken by the CBN are to strengthen the financial institution.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, the CBN sacked all the directors of First Bank Holding and First Bank Nigeria Ltd.<\/p>\n

CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, said the company was involved in insider abuse and breakdown of corporate governance.<\/p>\n

Emefiele further announced the reinstatement of Adeduntan as First Bank Managing Director.<\/p>\n
