1. The 27 students of the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka, Kaduna State, who were kidnapped two months ago, have been freed by their abductors. The State\u2019s Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige confirmed the development.<\/p>\n

2. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, yesterday, said the minority would suffer if the country breaks up. Obasanjo spoke at his residence, in Abeokuta, when he played host to members of the Tiv professionals Group (TPG).<\/p>\n

3. The spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry Enugu (AMEN), Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka yesterday, said that the authorities of the Enugu Catholic Diocese were behind his two days disappearance which led to tension in some parts of the country, particularly Enugu State on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

4. Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) yesterday said the nationwide strike will not be called off until a concrete resolution is reached on financial autonomy. Deputy President of the workers\u2019 union, Emmanuel Abioye, said the governors must do the needful before the strike would be suspended.<\/p>\n

5. Six persons lost their lives yesterday in a clash between members of the Oodua People\u2019s Congress and some persons suspected to be members of a cult in Owo, headquarters of the Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State. The Public Relations Officer of the state, Mr Tee-Leo Ikoro, confirmed the incident.<\/p>\n

6. Lawmakers have been notified of a possible attack by Boko Haram insurgents on the National Assembly complex and other public buildings in Abuja. Some members of the House of Representatives confirmed this yesterday.<\/p>\n

7. The Federal Government on Wednesday announced that it is going ahead with arrangements for deployment of Fifth Generation (5G) Technology in the telecommunications industry. Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, Prof Umar Garba Danbatta, announced this yesterday.<\/p>\n

8. The Federal Government will soon begin the distribution of the four million free electricity prepaid metres promised by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). This was made known to State House Correspondents yesterday by the Minister of Power, Mamman Saleh.<\/p>\n
