{"id":43234,"date":"2021-05-17T17:05:26","date_gmt":"2021-05-17T17:05:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/?p=43234"},"modified":"2021-05-17T14:33:46","modified_gmt":"2021-05-17T14:33:46","slug":"breaking-gunmen-kidnap-unijos-female-professor-husband","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/breaking-gunmen-kidnap-unijos-female-professor-husband","title":{"rendered":"BREAKING: Gunmen kidnap UNIJOS female professor, husband"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\">Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have kidnapped a professor with the Department of Medical Microbiology, University of Jos, Grace Ayanbimpe and her husband.<\/p>\n<p>DAILY POST gathered that the suspected Kidnappers invaded the lecturer\u2019s residence behind Stanel Oil, Lamingo in Jos North Local Government Area of the State, shooting sporadically before whisking the couple to an unknown destination.<\/p>\n<p>Sources revealed that the incident which created tension in the area occurred at noon on Monday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Details of the accident are still sketchy as at the time of filing this report as the University management has not issued any statement on the incident.<\/p>\n<p>However, when contacted by DAILY POST correspondent, the State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, ASP Ubah Gabriel Ogaba confirmed the abduction.<\/p>\n<p>According to the PPRO, the Command has deployed operatives to ensure the victims are rescued.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cThe Command received a report of kidnapping of a man and his wife, behind Stanel Oil Lamingo, Jos .<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTactical operatives has been deployed to the area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cConcerted efforts are on towards rescuing the victims and arresting the perpetrators\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
