Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>A cross section of Nigerians has criticised the President Muhammadu Buhari administration for not questioning and arresting Sheikh Ahmad Gumi over his alleged link to bandits.<\/p>\n

Gumi had in an interview on Monday warned the government against the killing of bandits, insisting that the criminals were victims too.<\/p>\n

He insisted that no school was safe in the North West for now until the government negotiated with the bandits.<\/p>\n

His recent statement has raised questions of his involvement with the bandits and why the Buhari\u2019s administration has failed to summon him for questioning.<\/p>\n

Nigerians on social media expressed their worries over the consistent demand by Gumi.<\/p>\n

According to some, Gumi seems to know a lot about bandits kidnapping students and should be brought in for questioning.<\/p>\n

Sanusi denies rift with Dahiru Bauchi over appointment of Tijjaniyya Islamic sect leader<\/p>\n

They accused the government of injustice, adding that such statements if made by an Igbo man would have landed him in DSS custody.<\/p>\n

@Cacot1 \u201cSheikh Gumi knows what DSS and other security agencies in Nigeria don\u2019t know about Bandits operations but he won\u2019t be called for questioning. Also, the central bank won\u2019t freeze his account.\u201d<\/p>\n

@DoshimaJohn \u201cWhat is Sheikh Gumi\u2019s stake in Banditry and kidnapping? He sounds desperate over negotiations with bandits like a businessman running out of business.\u201d<\/p>\n

@JulyEarth \u201cGumi is the brain behind the kidnappings can\u2019t tell me anything!<\/p>\n

@Irokobiafra \u201cAnd what is the government going to do about this statement? Nothing I think!<\/p>\n

@ChisomMbonu8 \u201cThis man has proven beyond reasonable doubt that he knows and has hand in the insecurity facing the north, but because he\u2019s a Fulani man no one has the right to call him for questioning. All this will pass and everyone will give account.\u201d<\/p>\n
