Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>An analyst, Hon. Mohammed Auwal, has said Nigerians should blame themselves for the security, social, political and economic problems ravaging the country for decades now.<\/p>\n

Speaking exclusively with DAILY POST in Gusau, Zamfara State capital, the analyst said that people capitalize on their position or people\u2019s ignorance to get more than expected within a very short time.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn other words, it is a shortcut of building mansions and driving flashy cars at the expense of the majority who are common men on the street,\u201d he lamented.<\/p>\n

\u201cBaba Riga on the chair otherwise known as the VIPs, even those people in the parliament shouting anti-corruption bill are the main problems of Nigeria because they don\u2019t follow the laws they make.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to him, the people elected them but they only need the money not the law, saying the laws are enacted but nobody enforces them because to them money is better than the laws.<\/p>\n

Speaking further, he maintained that even the lawmakers push away the laws introducing some formula of awarding contracts before they can get the much needed money.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow after their anti-corruption law, is mismanagement of public funds not included? Then what is the penalty? Who then is fooling who? Is it the fool fooling the fools? he asked.<\/p>\n

The political analyst explained that so many highly placed people have cases with the anti-corruption agencies and they are still moving freely in Nigeria.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo are we saying that once you are a highly placed person or distinguished law maker, minister no matter what crime you committed you are above the law of the land? And all you have done is forgiven\u201d<\/p>\n

He noted that the people who suffered under rain and sun are wallowing in abject poverty while the people they elected are sitting on billions and trillions, asking what the greedy politicians want to do with all the money.<\/p>\n

Alhaji Auwal said that the people do not like it because democracy is the government of the people for the people by the people, saying that they don\u2019t like it while these greedy politicians still insist on killing and dividing the system.<\/p>\n

The political analyst said the only thing the greedy politicians do is to come to their constituencies and share stipends to the people who placed them in those positions, saying that even the constituency\u2019s project funds given to federal lawmakers are not being accounted for.<\/p>\n

According to him, most of the federal lawmakers can not confidently point out a project they have executed with the constituency\u2019s project funds yet the anti corruption agencies are still watching without action.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
