Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>About 463 civil servants in Kwara State were on Monday presented cheques for the home renovation loan scheme of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria.<\/p>\n

Presenting the cheques to the beneficiaries, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, said the home renovation scheme was basically an initiative of the bank that many of them enrolled in.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou have played your own role by enrolling in the scheme. That is you trusting the system to work for you,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

According to the governor, for the beneficiaries to benefit from the loan scheme, \u201cYour state government stands as your guarantor and we gladly did, because we trust that you have also worked to earn our trust.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking through his deputy, Kayode Alabi, Governor Abdulrazaq, promised to mobilise resources and grab every opportunity to improve the well-being of the civil servants as well as the ordinary citizens.<\/p>\n

\u201cWithout workers, nothing meaningful gets done,\u201d he stated, adding that \u201d For this reason, we will always mobilize available resources and grab every opportunity to improve the well-being of the civil servants as well as the ordinary citizens.\u201d<\/p>\n

Governor Abdulrazaq assured that the government will ensure that workers across all cadres enjoy their promotion and the pay rise that comes with it, while training and retraining of workers has been approved.<\/p>\n

He appealed to civil servants to continue to trust the government and work with the administration to build a sustainable future for all Kwarans.<\/p>\n

State Head of Service, Mrs Modupe Susan Oluwole, said the scheme was designed specifically for contributors to the National Housing Fund to benefit from their contributions on lower interest rates.<\/p>\n

Architect Ahmed Dangiwa, Managing Director, Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, FMBN, said the loan window affords Nigerians who are contributors to the housing fund an opportunity to access mortgage loans to renovate or improve existing properties personally owned by them or through family ownership.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday, we are disbursing the sum of N303,750,000 to 463 beneficiaries,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He applauded the commitment and cooperation of Governor Abdulrazaq and state head of service, in executing the documents promptly which enabled Kwara State civil servants to benefit from the FMBN\u2019s home renovation to the tune of N1,025,283,000 disbursed to 1,575 beneficiaries.<\/p>\n

Dangiwa, also announced that the bank had approved a sum of N401,145,000 for 708 staff of Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, which will be credited to individual beneficiaries accounts after execution of all other conditions precedent to disbursement.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
