Ortom said about postponement of election"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has expressed disappointment over the postponement of the Presidential and National Assembly elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).<\/p>\n<p>According to NAN, Ortom expressed the disappointment while speaking with journalists in Makurdi on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>He said he regretted INEC\u2019s alleged disregard for the suffering of the masses as occasioned by the postponement.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/nigeria\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2019\/01\/ortom-600x534-1-300x267.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"267\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.africa-press.net\/upload\/sites\/3\/2019\/01\/ortom-600x534-1-300x267.png 300w, https:\/\/static.africa-press.net\/upload\/sites\/3\/2019\/01\/ortom-600x534-1.png 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><br \/>\nHe said that voters living outside their voting areas had already travelled far and wide to exercise their franchise.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will no longer allow the will of the people to be truncated,\u201d Ortom said.<\/p>\n<p>Also reacting, the Benue Coordinator of the Coalition of Civil Society Organization, Miss Josephine Habba also expressed disappointment over the development.<\/p>\n<p>Habba said many Nigerians including him had already trooped out early hours of Saturday before the election the postponement.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has expressed disappointment over the postponement of the Presidential and National Assembly elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
