Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State, has debunked the claim by the Hope Uzodinma-led government that members of the opposition party are moving in thousands to the ruling party.<\/p>\n

The party described such news as fake and untrue.<\/p>\n

In a press release signed by the party\u2019s Director of New Media, Collins Opuruzor, the opposition party said PDP is growing stronger and receiving more converts everyday.<\/p>\n

The release said, \u201cSenator Hope Uzodinma has continued to embark on a wild goose chase while issues of overriding interest to Imo people are outrightly neglected.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis latest pastime is to sponsor fake news about defections of PDP members to his own faction of APC in the state. It is his thinking that Imo people can be persuaded to accept his illegitimate reign and join the ongoing show of shame in Imo which is wrongly described as governance.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe governor\u2019s obsession with propaganda only exposes his weakness to governance.<\/p>\n

\u201cDay after day, Senator Hope Uzodinma sends his hirelings to the press to announce that a PDP chieftain has joined him with fifty thousand supporters. Sometimes, they pit the figure at hundred thousand supporters. This is laughable.<\/p>\n

\u201cBackground check from our party would quickly reveal the so-called chieftains were not members of the PDP and never took a single supporter to him.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat is true and pathetic is that the governor has created so much poverty and hunger in the land that he now baits a few unprincipled politicians with crumbs and hopes that by doing so, he would become popular. No way!<\/p>\n

\u201cEven members of APC have boycotted the registration and revalidation exercise in the state. This is a confirmation that the governor has been completely rejected by Imo people.<\/p>\n

\u201cPDP is growing stronger each day and anyone who waits for our members to defect to Uzodinma\u2019s party of abysmal failure is only wasting their time.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
