{"id":47431,"date":"2021-07-26T17:19:59","date_gmt":"2021-07-26T16:19:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/?p=47431"},"modified":"2021-07-26T16:20:10","modified_gmt":"2021-07-26T15:20:10","slug":"court-adjourns-baba-ijeshas-trial","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/court-adjourns-baba-ijeshas-trial","title":{"rendered":"Court adjourns Baba Ijesha\u2019s trial"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\">Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday adjourned the child molestation case against embattled Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka, aka Baba Ijesha.<\/p>\n<p>DAILY POST had reported that the Nollywood actor arrived at the court for his trial after he was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in the care of comedienne, Damilola Adekoya, also known as Princess.<\/p>\n<p>He was charged on six counts of sexual assault by penetration, indecent treatment of a child, and sexual assault.<\/p>\n<p>Also in attendance at the court were Princess and actress, Iyabo Ojo.<\/p>\n<p>However, Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo while delivering judgment, adjourned the matter after the counsel for Princess played primary evidence against the embattled actor.<\/p>\n<p>The judge adjourned the case till Tuesday, July 27, 2021.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
