Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>A total of three Nigerian track and field athletes have qualified for the finals at the ongoing 2020 Tokyo Olympics Games in Japan.<\/p>\n

They are Enoch Adegoke, Tobi Amusan and Ese Brume.<\/p>\n

Adegoke qualified for the final of the men\u2019s 100m heat at the ongoing 2020 Tokyo Olympics Games in Japan on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old finished second (10.00s) in heat 2 of men\u2019s 100m, just behind Zharnel Hughes, who kept the British hope alive by winning the second semi in 9.98seconds.<\/p>\n

Amusan, meanwhile, qualified for the Women\u2019s 100m Hurdles final.<\/p>\n

She advanced to the next round of the competition on Saturday after winning Round 1 (Heat 3), running from lane four.<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old crossed the finish line at 12.72s ahead of Jamaica\u2019s Thompson Yanique, who timed 12.74s and Skrzyszowska Pia of Poland, who ran a personal best of 12.75s to place third in the heat.<\/p>\n

Brume, on the other hand, qualified for the Long Jump final.<\/p>\n

She finished fourth in Group B with a 6.76m jump to take the final spot.<\/p>\n

Reigning World Indoor champion, Ivana Spanovic, was first in Group B with a jump of 7.00mm, while current world champion Malaika Mihambo was second with a 6.98m leap and British Virgin Islands\u2019 Chantel Malone (6.82m) finished third.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
