Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Bola Mogaji has been appointed as Chairman of the newly created 10-man Kwara State Sports Commission.<\/p>\n

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq also appointed Dr Olarinoye Steve Abiodun as the Director-General of the commission.<\/p>\n

A statement in Ilorin by the governor\u2019s spokesman, Rafiu Ajakaye, announced the appointments.<\/p>\n

Mogaji, a household name in the sports industry, who hails from Ilorin West Local Government Area of the state, has decades of cognate experience as a professional sports athlete and stakeholder.<\/p>\n

A graduate of University of Ibadan, he has served in different capacities as a sports administrator at different levels.<\/p>\n

Mogaji was on the Kwara State Sports Council as chief coach between 1977 and 1995; he was national squash champion between 1988-1989; national coach squash 1995-2014; technical chairman of Nigeria Squash Federation between 2000-2004 and President of the Nigeria Squash Referee Association from 2012 to date among others.<\/p>\n

Dr Abiodun, the new director general of the commission, who hails from Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state, is also a renowned sports administrator.<\/p>\n

A product of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, he has held several positions as executive secretary of the Professional League, Nigeria Football Association between 1993-1995; Head, International Competition Department (NFA) 1995-1996; Secretary General, Nigeria Weightlifting Federation between 2005-2009 and chairman, Kwara state Weightlifting Association from 2018-to date.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
