Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The Adamawa State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended the Caretaker Chairman of Yola South Local Government, Suleiman Adamu over alleged hate speech on social media.<\/p>\n

The Chairman allegedly wished President Muhammadu death by COVID-19, a statement that went viral.<\/p>\n

In a statement which was released in Yola by the State Caretaker Publicity Secretary, Hon. Mohammed Abdullahi, and obtained by DAILY POST, the embattled Caretaker Chairman was suspended following a recommendation set up by the party leadership in the state.<\/p>\n

The party condemned the statement attributed to a member of its executive, describing \u2018death wish\u2019 as cruel and demeaning to the office of the President and national leader of the ruling party.<\/p>\n

Part of the statement read: \u201cWe came across an audio clip that is widely circulating in the social media which emanated from the stakeholders meeting of our party in Yola South Local Government.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the light of the above, we had an emergency SWC meeting where the audio clip was replayed, digested, and deliberated upon.\u201d<\/p>\n

The party insisted that the uncomplimentary remarks in the controversial audio clip emanated from Yola Caretaker Chairman and approved his suspension as contained in the committee report.<\/p>\n

The party pleaded with members in the state not to indulge themselves in activities that spell doom for APC ahead of the 2023 general election.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
