Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The Appeal Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the ward congress in Ogun State, on Wednesday, said it had received three petitions from aggrieved party members, including senators representing Ogun West and Ogun East, Tolu Odebiyi and Lekan Mustapha respectively.<\/p>\n

The Chairman of the five-man committee, Mr. Segun Ojo, at a press briefing on Thursday, said the committee was constituted by the APC national leadership to resolve all issues arising from the conduct of the ward congress.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cWe are in the state to meet with members of our party that are aggrieved as a result of the conduct of the party\u2019s ward congress.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are given the mandate by the national body of APC to resolve all outstanding issues as members of the same family.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will listen to all issues raised as regards the Congress. The party in the state is not factionalised. Nobody has established any crisis within the party.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Committee Chairman disclosed that they have listened carefully to all the petitioners and the defendants.<\/p>\n

He stressed that petitions were received from Senators Tolu Odebiyi of Ogun West and Lekan Mustapha of Ogun East.<\/p>\n

He added that elected party chairmen in 2018 and some members of the Congress Committee have also submitted their petition.<\/p>\n

According to Ojo, the petitioners were attended to till late night on Wednesday, assuring others would be listened to.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll the petitioners have the interest of the party at heart. They want the party to be strong and united. There is no acrimony in the party in the State. APC is in government in the state and we will not allow anyone to disrupt the peace of the state or disorganise the party.<\/p>\n

He revealed that the Committee would make known its recommendations and submit its report to the national body.<\/p>\n

The effect of the report, he said, would guide the September 4 local government congress.<\/p>\n

Oko described as a plus, the fact that Ogun political class have former governors of the State in the APC.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will not allow any to disorganise the party. The party is one that is taking care of internal issues,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
