Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Cristiano Ronaldo has said legendary Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, was the \u201cmain key\u201d behind his decision to return to the club.<\/p>\n

The 36-year-old has completed a sensational return to Old Trafford, after spending three years with Juventus.<\/p>\n

Ronaldo spent six years under Ferguson before departing for Real Madrid in 2009.<\/p>\n

However, the two men have remained close and Ferguson spoke to the player in the days before his return to the Theatre of Dreams.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs everybody knows, since I signed for Manchester [United] at 18, Sir Alex Ferguson was the key.<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember when we played against Manchester when I was at Sporting Lisbon. For me, Sir Alex Ferguson is like a father in football for me.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe helped me a lot, he taught me many things. In my opinion of course he had a big role because of the relationship that we had, we keep in touch all the time, and he\u2019s an unbelievable person.<\/p>\n

\u201cI really like him a lot and he was the main key for me to be in the position that I am, that I signed for Manchester United,\u201d Ronaldo told MUTV.<\/p>\n
