Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State have been called upon to turn out en-masse to vote their choice candidates in the local government congress being held on Saturday, 4th September, 2021 across the state.<\/p>\n

Making this call in Osogbo, the Chairman of The Osun Progressives (TOP), a caucus within the ruling party, Adelowo Adebiyi, urged party members especially members of the caucus to maintain an orderly and peaceful disposition notwithstanding the level of provocation.<\/p>\n

Adebiyi, who said he was convinced of victory for all the candidates of TOP in the exercise, stated that the caucus had fulfilled all righteousness in ensuring the qualification and participation of its members in the local government congress.<\/p>\n

In his words, \u201cThe commitments to rebuilding and re-energising Osun APC has been sacrosanct for The Osun Progressives in spite of the impunity embarked upon by the Governor\u2019s group, IleriOluwa, in executing the ongoing congress.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to assure all members of the group that the security and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have been duly notified of the exercise by The Osun Progressives which is contesting Saturday\u2019s local government congress in 28 local governments of the state.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe however take exception to the raw use of power and manipulation by the Governor\u2019s group, IleriOluwa and the state government elements with the support of the outgoing party executives in the ongoing congress exercise.\u201d<\/p>\n

The former Osun APC chairman described as unacceptable and a violation of all the rules and regulations guiding the congress, the action of the Governor in preventing other stakeholders from buying nomination forms by making officials who arrived the state from the National Secretariat for the purpose of selling nomination forms inaccessible.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe at The Osun Progressives are a patriotic and law abiding group and we will exhaust all possible internal means to make our case hoping that we will get justice no matter the shenanigans of the other group.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe call on the Governor Mai Mala Buni National Caretaker Committee to have a closer and clearer look at the Osun APC case. The Osun Progressives, if it discovers that it may not get justice within, may seek alternative arbitration elsewhere as it may deem necessary\u201d, he warned.<\/p>\n
