Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The grip of Governor Nyesome Wike on Rivers State politics may be loosening as a member of the House of Representatives, Chisom Dike, swapped the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the broom of the All Progressives Congress (APC).<\/p>\n

The defection was contained in a letter directed to the House via the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila.<\/p>\n

In the letter read by Gbajabiamila on Thursday, Dike stated that the constant crisis in the PDP prompted his decision to defect to the APC.<\/p>\n

He also said the leadership of the Speaker aided his decision to defect.<\/p>\n

Defection from the PDP to APC has almost become a weekly occurrence in the House of Representatives.<\/p>\n

Before the annual recess, about 10 lawmakers from Zamfara and Cross River states defected to the APC from the PDP.<\/p>\n

The latest defection may be unconnected to the protracted fight between Wike and PDP Chairman, Uche Secondus.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
