Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has urged the world to query President Muhammadu Buhari over his role in the escalation of terrorism, violation of rights, electoral malpractices, corruption, national division and economic ruin of Nigeria in the last six years.<\/p>\n

PDP made the call ahead of Buhari\u2019s Friday address of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, UNGA.<\/p>\n

The party noted that Buhari administration has violated the sanctity of human lives, freedom, respect for human rights, justice and rule of law; credible elections, and democratic governance for which UNGA represents.<\/p>\n

In a series of tweets on Thursday, PDP wrote: \u201cAs President @MBuhari sets to address the 76th session of the @UN General Assembly (UNGA), in New York, on Friday, the @OfficialPDPNig asks the world body and other democratic institutions to query the President on the role of his administration in the escalation of terrorism, violation of rights, electoral malpractices, corruption, national division and economic ruin of Nigeria in the last six years.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe @OfficialPDPNig notes that the sanctity of human lives, freedom, respect for human rights, justice and rule of law; credible elections, democratic governance promotion of peace, accountability in governance, economic development among others, which the General Assembly stands for have all been violated by the @MBuhari administration.\u201d<\/p>\n

The party urged the General Assembly not to lose sight of the reports by credible international organizations including the \u201cUS Department of State as well as @amnesty on cases of arbitrary arrests and detention in dehumanizing facilities, widespread extrajudicial killings, sudden disappearances of dissenting voices and disregard to rule of law under President @MBuhari\u2019s watch.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is in addition to brazen disobedience to court orders, use of security forces to suppress citizens, media gagging, and systemic injustices that underscore the horrible situation in<\/p>\n

@MBuhari\u2019s Nigeria, as also profiled by the @IntlCrimCourt<\/p>\n

\u201cWe urge the General Assembly to question President @MBuhari on the failures and alleged compromises of our nation\u2019s security coordination under his administration, leading to unabating mass killings, kidnapping, banditry, arson and marauding of communities across our nation, to the extent that Nigeria now ranks as the third country with the highest level of terrorism after Iran and Afghanistan.\u201d<\/p>\n
