Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>On Saturday night, Britain and Nigeria watched in collective horror, as Oleksandr Usyk outclassed Anthony Joshua in their heavyweight fight.<\/p>\n

At the end of 12 rounds, there was no dissenting voice as to who the clear winner was.<\/p>\n

The judges\u2019 result sheets read: 117-112, 116-112 and 115-113.<\/p>\n

Usyk\u2019s speed and skill proved to be too much for Joshua, who was saved by the bell.<\/p>\n

It was brutal.<\/p>\n

And it was Andy Ruiz Jr all over again. In 2019, Joshua was stunned by the Mexican who ripped him of all his titles for the first time.<\/p>\n

Before the fight, Joshua was accused of being too nice to the Ruiz Jr, who he even allowed to hold his belts at the press conference.<\/p>\n

Dilian Whyte\u2019s warning before the bout was stark.<\/p>\n

\u201cJoshua can be mentally fragile sometimes, so Usyk can get in his head.<\/p>\n

\u201cUsyk\u2019s doing the same sort of thing that Andy Ruiz was doing \u2013 smiling, taking pictures with his belts.\u201d<\/p>\n

Like an old prophet, Whyte\u2019s words came to pass.<\/p>\n

Joshua did not take advantage of his superior power, height and reach. He did not work Usyk\u2019s body enough. At the end of the day, he was outboxed.<\/p>\n

His second defeat ever, has led to doubts as to if he could beat British rival Tyson Fury. Or even Deontay Wilder.<\/p>\n

It appears Joshua may have reached his zenith as a heavyweight boxer and his decline is on the horizon.<\/p>\n

A rematch with Usyk has been confirmed. But Usyk is not Ruiz Jr. He will not be carried away.<\/p>\n

He is only the third boxer (after Evander Holyfield and David Haye) to win world titles at cruiserweight and heavyweight. And the Ukrainian looks as if he is here to stay.<\/p>\n

If Joshua thinks he will walk over him in the second fight, he might be in for the shock of his life.<\/p>\n
