Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Police authorities in Anambra State have vowed to arrest suspected cultists who killed a member of a rival group and used his head to play soccer.<\/p>\n

The incident happened on premises suspected to be a residence of students of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University in Igbariam.<\/p>\n

The video which circulated on social media showed a dreadlock-carry young man, who was dragged out of his car and shot at close range.<\/p>\n

His head was later brought to a square, where the assailants used it to play soccer.<\/p>\n

In his reaction, the state police commissioner, CP Tony Olofu, who spoke through the command\u2019s spokesperson, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, said the command was working hard to track down the culprits.<\/p>\n

Ikenga said: \u201cThe Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Tony Olofu, has ordered an investigation on the shooting incident on 25\/9\/2021 by 4 pm along Igbariam road.<\/p>\n

\u201cPreliminary investigation reveals that the shooting was as a result of the rival cult clash. Meanwhile, Police Operatives have intensified patrol and surveillance within the area. Further details shall be communicated,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, two persons were feared dead as unknown gunmen struck Sunday night in Anambra State.<\/p>\n

It was gathered that the incident happened in Nnobi, Idemili South Local Government Area of the state.<\/p>\n

Also, three persons were set ablaze by the unidentified persons<\/p>\n

A source, who spoke with journalists, said the incident took place around 5.45 pm at Afor Nnobi. The situation, the source further said, had created tension in and around the area.<\/p>\n

A source said Mr Nelson Omenugha, son of the Anambra State Commissioner for Basic Education, Prof. Kate Omenugha, was among those attacked.<\/p>\n

Omenugha who is a staunch supporter of the former CBN governor\u2019s governorship ambition was said to have escaped, but his Hilux was not spared as it was set ablaze.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
