{"id":51226,"date":"2021-10-04T17:53:54","date_gmt":"2021-10-04T16:53:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/fomwan-decries-increase-in-social-vices-in-nigeria"},"modified":"2021-10-04T17:57:18","modified_gmt":"2021-10-04T16:57:18","slug":"fomwan-decries-increase-in-social-vices-in-nigeria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/all-news\/fomwan-decries-increase-in-social-vices-in-nigeria","title":{"rendered":"FOMWAN decries increase in social vices in Nigeria"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\">Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The Federation of Muslim Women Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN) has explained why social vices such as insurgency, kidnapping, yahoo yahoo syndrome are on the increase in the country.<\/p>\n<p>The association said social vices are on the increase because many women have abandoned their roles.<\/p>\n<p>It, however, advised that Nigeria will be a better place to live if women will rise up to their God-given responsibilities of channelling a Godly and fruitful path for their children.<\/p>\n<p>FOMWAN National Amirah (President) Hajia Rafiah Idowu Sanni in a statement issued in Abuja to mark Nigeria\u2019s 61st Independence anniversary, maintained that the society is experiencing moral, spiritual and intellectual bankruptcy because most women have failed in their divine duty as the first school for their children.<\/p>\n<p>She maintained that social vices and social problems are on the increase because a majority of women have abandoned their duties in the family.<\/p>\n<p>Sanni in the statement made available to DAILY POST on Monday said women are supposed to be the first teachers for their children but most of them are not there for the children at home.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWomen are supposed to be the first schools for their children and their laps that should serve as the first classrooms in which their children would first learn the rudimentary knowledge of life are no longer available because of the search for materials of life.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe situation in the Country is suggesting that women are failing in their responsibilities because the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was reported to have said that if women are good the society will be good and it will be devoid of evils.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnfortunately, women have abandoned their celestial and domestic duties. We now run after worldly things.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe now compete with the menfolk at the expense of our homes. Mothers are no longer available to train their children.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe result is a society that is full of evil and evildoers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSocial vices are widespread among the youth, the elderly and even the leaders.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost of these agents of destruction and criminals have mothers.
